Essential Functions
- Full understanding of medical equipment, human anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repair techniques to perform equipment repairs
- Possess the skill to utilize tools and test equipment required for job duties and responsibilities
- Adherence to confidentiality requirements and safeguarding of protected health information (PHI)
- Certified in using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for documentation
- Intermediate knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to medical equipment management

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs
- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc
- May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience working as a Clinical Engineering Tech I, or equivalent, is required
- Associate of Applied Science Degree or completion of a Biomedical Technician Certificate Course is preferred
- Experience in assigned medical equipment environment is preferred
