Position Overview

Captures the essential functions of the role, including:

  • Coordinates orientation plans for healthcare providers.
  • Individualizes orientation plans based on experience and learning needs.
  • Aids in updating and monitoring the orientation process.
  • Evaluates program outcomes based on educational materials.
  • Disseminates information about relevant learning offerings.
  • Integrates evidence-based practice and CH regulatory standards.
  • Develops and updates educational materials.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitates critical thinking and performance improvement.
  • Promotes research integration into practice.
  • Assists with competency development and performance appraisals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: MS or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience: Three years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care healthcare facility.
  • Some previous teaching experience preferred.
  • If hired on the Mother/Baby Unit, IBCLC certification required within one year.
  • Other credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, Registered Nurse - NJ, ATCN or TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale Certification, PALS, ACLS, NRP.
  • Physical demands: Frequent sitting, standing, walking, carrying objects, pushing/pulling, wrist position deviation, pinching/fine motor activities, keyboard use/repetitive motion.
  • Sensory requirements: Very accurate 20/40, near vision, accurate far vision, color discrimination, moderate depth perception, accurate hearing.
  • Occupational exposure risks: Bloodborne Pathogens, chemical, airborne communicable disease, radiation, dust/particulate matter.
