Responsibilities
This position will serve as a clinical educator for the Communication Sciences and Disorders program within the Speech, Hearing, and Learning Services (SHLS) clinic. Responsibilities include supervising and guiding Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate students in their clinical experiences, modeling speech-language pathology services by directly providing services to clients, either with or without students, and monitoring students' adherence to various compliance requirements (e.g., billing, HIPAA, confidentiality, Code of Ethics).
- Participating in SHLS and university meetings to include: CSD Team and CSD Advisory
- Participating in the Clinical Affairs Committee
- Reviewing applications for graduate school
- Completing clinical paperwork (e.g., editing SOAP notes, lesson plans, treatment plans, progress reports, evaluation reports)
- Approval of clinical clock hours
- Completion of final evaluations for graduate clinicians
- Participating in Clinical Teaching Teams
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and hold or be eligible for a license as a Speech-Language Pathologist from the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology
- Substantial experience as a speech-language pathologist
- Experience supervising graduate students
- Responsible to teach at least 1 undergraduate class per academic year as needed
