Responsible for

• Clinical orientation and in-service training for new and current clinical Associates.
• Assessment, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs.
• Model appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What You Will Do

• Coordinates individualized orientation for all new unit/department Associates.
• Plans and implements standardized learning activities to meet the needs of all levels of clinical Associates.
• Serves as a role model/change agent to promote professional and technical development of Associates.
• Provides consultative services to internal and external customers.
• Integrates relevant research outcomes into learning activities.

Education & Formal Training Requirements

• Required: Bachelor's Degree Nursing
• PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree Allied Health
• PREFERRED: Master's Degree Allied Health
• PREFERRED: Master's Degree Nursing

Work Experience Requirements

• Required: General 3-5 years
• PREFERRED: Teaching 3-5 years

Licenses & Certifications Requirements

• BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
• Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing
• Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Mississippi - Mississippi State Department of Health
• Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Respiratory Care
• Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Arkansas - Arkansas State Medical Board

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge and skill in clinical care.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
• Proficiency in a specialized clinical field.

Physical Demands

• The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25lbs. of force frequently.
• The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
• Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
• Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
• Able to react quickly to emergency situations.
• Frequent travel outside hospital.
