Shift/Hours

Part-Time – 24 hours/week, 1st Shift

Job Description

• Provides individualized education based on assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating in collaboration with managers in an area of specialty.
• Serves as a resource to all staff.
• Serves as a resource to other departments.
• Assesses needs of staff to enhance learning at all campuses.
• Interacts with staff to maintain knowledge of workflow, completes leadership rounds, assesses clinical and educational needs, and provides education on the unit.
• Develops a plan to enhance education and staff competencies, revises educational plan based on assessment of nurse skills/needs as needed.
• Mentors staff and oversees planning and implementation of specialty Skills Day.
• Collaborates with Nursing Staff Development to meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborates with managers to assist in maintaining competency record keeping.
• Responsible for keeping planning meetings on track, helping to arrange meeting times and places.
• Responsible for assuring staff involved in skills day planning have all the necessary supplies and information needed to complete projects.
• Works in collaboration with managers on special projects, serving on committees as necessary.
• Works in collaboration with managers in providing staff orientation and advanced training specific to the area of expertise.
• Serves as a resource to other departments.
• Assesses current nursing practice and uses disease specific to evaluate and implements best practices to further enhance patient outcomes.
• Works to promote best practices and nursing research within the area of expertise.

Qualifications

• Education, Credentials, Licenses:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence
• Current license to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed
• Specialized Knowledge:
• Knowledge and application of the adult educational process required
• Kind And Length Of Experience:
• 2 years recent clinical experience including teaching in his/her clinical area
