Clinical Education Manager
Position Overview
The Clinical Education Manager plays a vital role in promoting the safety and well-being of patients, employees, volunteers, and the community by leading infection prevention initiatives, supporting the ongoing professional development of employees, and taking a proactive approach to education initiatives with partner facilities and clinics.
This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating infection control programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., DOH, CMS, OSHA) and serves as a liaison with public health agencies as needed.
The Clinical Education Manager serves as a cross-trained operational resource to ensure continuity of leadership and patient care across hospice clinical programs, including coverage for the Hospice House Manager and the In-Home Hospice Manager during planned and unplanned absences.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Washington State.
- Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS).
- Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
- Strong teaching, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and educational methodologies.
- Familiarity with infection control surveillance, data analysis, and reporting.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field.
- Experience in clinical education and/or infection prevention.
- Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) through the Hospice and Palliative Care Credentialing Center (HPCC).
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC).
- Hospice and/or palliative care experience.
- Experience in supervision, team leadership, or staff development.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.
