CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION MANAGER CMO
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, or HIM required; Master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of work experience with Coding and Reimbursement as well as Clinical Pathways
- 7-10 years of progressive management experience
- CCS, CCDS, or CDIP certification required
- Advanced clinical knowledge of disease processes and clinical practice
- Expert level of inpatient ICD10 CM & PCS
- Experience with 3M 360 Computer Assisted Coding, 3M 360 Natural Language Processing, 3M 360 CDIS software, and 3M 360 Report generation
- Knowledge and expertise in computer and software operations, including, but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of EPIC enterprise system preferred
- Knowledge of coding guidelines for ICD 10

About the Role
This position manages the staff who are directly performing chart reviews for the purposes of improving overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation so it best reflects a patient's severity of illness and risk of mortality. These managers perform reviews or have oversight of their direct reports who perform reviews with the goals of supporting appropriate reimbursement and the impact on hospital quality performance data.
Responsibilities
Plans, develops, implements, evaluates and updates clinical documentation education programs and ongoing development of the Montefiore Medical Center's Clinical Documentation Integrity program.
Requirements
Manages software frameworks for improved severity, quality, and financial outcomes from Clinical Documentation associates, external programs, and departments (HIM, Network Performance Group, Acute Care Services, etc.) in order to meet organizational fiscal and clinical objectives.
Requires exemplary coding, clinical expertise and documentation, and communication skill sets.
Pay
$128,848.20 - $161,060.25
Schedule
Day shift, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 4 PM, 7.5 hours per day
