Clinical Dietitian - Torrance State Hospital
Description of Work
This position organizes and delivers nutritional care for adult and geriatric residents, including those who require modified or therapeutic diets. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will perform the following duties:
- Diet Planning: Write modified diets, adjust recipes, and guide preparation of therapeutic diet products
- Patient Nutrition: Organize complete nutritional care including assessments, counseling, treatment team involvement, and education programs
- Product Selection: Recommend ordering and prepare specifications for specialized therapeutic food items
- Program Support: Coordinate with food service staff to ensure diets meet nutritional needs and patient acceptance
- Quality Review: Collect data and support nutritional audits for continuous improvement efforts
- Education Delivery: Plan, teach, and evaluate nutrition programs for patients, staff, and families
Qualifications Required
Special Requirements: You must possess active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or proof of eligibility for such certification.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
