Advances patient care directly as an expert clinical practitioner and indirectly as an educator, consultant, and researcher. Establishes nutritional status of patients based on historical, clinical, and laboratory data, identifies appropriate nutrition diagnoses, and recommends, implements, and monitors interventions to address nutritional issues.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary health care team to promote wellness, maintain current health, and/or intervene in acute or chronic illness through evidence-based practices.
  • Assess and individualize care for a diverse patient population, including patients requiring enteral nutrition and/or therapeutic diets, based on health care needs.
  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate nutrition education individualized to patient needs.
  • Provide leadership for Diet Technicians and other personnel involved in clinical nutrition services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Dietitian.
  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • One-year of post-graduate clinical experience in a similar position.
