Clinical Dietitian III

About the role

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Clinical Dietitian III to join our team. This role involves working alongside other medical professionals to provide the necessary care to patients while embodying the BJC values.

Responsibilities

• Works within an interprofessional team and with patients and families to provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT).
• Evaluates medications that may affect nutrition status and assesses the outcomes of nutrition support therapy.
• Plays a key role in integrating interdisciplinary input and refining nutrition intervention plans.
• Analyzes and reports on the utilization and cost of nutrition support therapy, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to modify organizational practices.
• Mentors others in advancing specific skill sets.
• Generates and revises guidelines and protocols based on the latest research and evidence.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree in nutrition or related field preferred, but not required for hires before January 1, 2024.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Dietitian in the state.
• Specialty certifications such as CSP, CNSC, CDCES, CCTD, CSO, CSG, CSR, or Weight Management are preferred.
• The ability to maintain a high level of alertness and safety in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field.
• Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Licenses & Certifications: Current Dietitian license in the state.

Skills

• Expertise in complex/multiple metabolic diagnoses and diseases.
• Knowledge of research associated with nutrition science, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• Ability to integrate interdisciplinary input and refine nutrition intervention plans.
• Proficiency in using evidence-based guidelines and protocols.
