About the Role

As a Clinical Dietitian, you will provide expert nutrition care, developing and implementing individualized plans to improve patient health outcomes. You will integrate robust clinical expertise with empathetic, evidence-based care, consistently adhering to professional standards and fostering effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nutritional assessments using age and gender-appropriate standards, cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds, and validated assessment tools to identify nutrition-related diagnoses.
  • Conduct routine screenings to identify patients at nutritional risk.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate care and identify patients needing higher levels of nutrition intervention.
  • Implement targeted and specific nutrition interventions.
  • Provide customized nutrition education to patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and rescreen patient nutrition status, updating the plan of care as necessary.
  • Develop intervention plans including appropriate feeding routes, modes, and nutrition prescriptions unique to patient needs, in accordance with physicians' orders.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient response to interventions by meeting specific measurable goals documented in the nutrition care plan.
  • Collaborate with the Food and Nutrition Services team to enhance patient experience, including participating in test trays, menu reviews, and audits of trayline accuracy.
  • Validate menu compliance with the facility Diet Manual Handbook and Nutrition Care Manual (NCM).
  • Support patient interactive positions (e.g., dietitians, diet clerks, interns) and maintain communication with patients, staff, and guests.
  • Participate in peer reviews, chart audits, and training for clinical staff on the Diet Manual Handbook.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or completion of an accredited dietetics program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics).
  • Registered Dietitian (ADA, AND, or CDR) within 90 days of hire.
  • Dietitian license in Arkansas (AR) within 90 days of hire.
