About the role

The Clinical Diabetes Sales Specialist at Tandem Diabetes Care is responsible for promoting and selling Tandem Diabetes products and clinical services within an assigned territory. This role involves identifying potential customers, establishing business relationships, providing clinical and sales support, and educating health care professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies potential customers and establishes business relationships to facilitate the sale of Tandem Diabetes products and clinical services.
  • Uses clinical expertise to provide direct support to trainers, physicians, and their staff.
  • Trains and supports patients using Tandem products.
  • Leverages customer training and clinical expertise to generate positive clinical outcomes and sales.
  • Develops strategies with the territory sales team to address clinical concerns and ensure the sale of Tandem Diabetes products.
  • Identifies and gathers information to determine if prospecting criteria have been satisfied.
  • Promotes Tandem’s unique market position and educates prospects/customers on industry/healthcare trends, Tandem products, and other population health management issues.
  • Completes product training, documentation, and communication with healthcare professionals in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent professional relationships with health care professionals to support the sale of Tandem Diabetes products.
  • Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.
  • Directly reports to the Regional Sales Manager for all sales and business process responsibilities and goals, and collaborates with the Regional Clinical Manager for clinical responsibilities, goals, and compliance.

Requirements

  • RN (BSN preferred), RD or RPh or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
  • Advanced Diabetes Education Professional Credential (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Board Certified, Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) certified or eligible).
  • 2-years’ experience coordinating and conducting patient education on the technical use of diabetes technology (experience with video remote education preferred).
  • Ability to relate effectively with patients, referral sources, and health care professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate as a clinical expert on diabetes, diabetes technology, Automated Insulin Delivery, and diabetes management software systems to patients and health care providers.
  • Skilled at presenting educational material in a clear, concise manner to various audiences.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing market and see change as an opportunity to improve business performance and campaign for it when necessary.
  • 1-year related diabetes/endocrinology industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel at least 80% in the assigned territory; must maintain a valid driver’s license and required auto insurance as well as a good driving record per company policy.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Must be able to complete a thorough screening process, including a drug test (excluding Marijuana) and background check.

Skills

  • Strong clinical expertise in diabetes management.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of diabetes technology and automated insulin delivery systems.
  • Experience with CRM software and customer relationship management.

Pay

$111,150 to $135,850 annually, with a target earning potential of $136,150 to $160,850 annually.

Schedule

Field-based role based in the West LA region which consists of Long Beach, Beverly Hills, Torrance, and Santa Monica.
