Responsibilities
- Coordinates the development and implementation of education and training programs.
- Enhances, promotes, and maintains high standards of staff professional growth in providing quality patient care.
- Serves as a role model of excellence in nursing knowledge and clinical practice.
- Administers staff development programs through needs assessment and implements education and training programs for clinical staff.
- Functions in a leadership role as a clinical expert.
- Maintains unit-specific quality, accreditation, and clinical competency programs.
- Provides staff instruction on the collection of data.
- Assists with the development and implementation of clinical guidelines.
- Serves as a resource to departmental and other hospital staff.
Requirements
- Required Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
- Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
- Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
- PREFERRED: Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
