Clinical Development Director, Early Development - Inflammation/Rare Disease

For our client, we are seeking a Clinical Development Director, Early Development - Inflammation/Rare Disease to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will shape early-stage clinical development strategy for therapeutic candidates in a highly scientific, regulated environment. The director will partner closely with cross-functional internal teams and external experts to advance study planning, biomarker strategy, and evidence generation. This position also plays a key role in evaluating external licensing and partnering opportunities while providing strategic guidance to early development programs. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $274,789 – $371,773 annually Responsibilities Design early clinical development strategy for therapeutic candidates Prepare clinical development plans and study protocols Review clinical study safety and efficacy data Strategize on clinical biomarkers for drug development Collaborate across internal departments and with external experts Evaluate external licensing or partnering opportunities Provide strategic guidance to early development teams Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school 2+ years of industry or academic clinical development experience Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or a relevant subspecialty preferred Experience in basic research and/or clinical trial methodology 3+ years of relevant drug development experience, preferably in early-stage clinical trials Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills Benefits Comprehensive employee benefits package including health and welfare plans Retirement and Savings Plan with generous company contributions Stock-based long-term incentives Award-winning time-off plans Flexible work models when applicable Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
