Responsibilities
- Clinical Data Set Ingestion: Ingest, structure, and categorize raw clinical records, demographic variables, and trial metric details into centralized relational databases.
- Line-by-Line Document Auditing: Execute meticulous quality control checks on processed data arrays, cross-referencing file entries against case report primary sheets to isolate data errors.
- Standard Taxonomy Standardization: Run data cleaning workflows to ensure all stored data fields strictly match established global medical coding rules and data dictionaries.
- Data Privacy & Compliance: Ensure all data handling processes adhere strictly to HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
- Collaborative Reporting: Partner with clinical trial managers to report dataset anomalies and operational bottlenecks.
- Process Optimization: Proactively identify and propose improvements to data ingestion pipelines to reduce processing latency.
- Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive audit logs and procedural documentation for all curation activities.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Biomedical Science, Statistics, Computer Information Systems, or a related quantitative technical or life sciences field.
- Experience Level: 0 to 2 years of experience. Clinical trial data support internships, medical database research assistantships, or university informatics capstones are highly preferred.
- Numeric Pattern Recognition Acuity: Exceptional attention to data alignment details combined with master-level command of table management inside Microsoft Excel.
- Communication Proficiency: Ability to effectively communicate complex data findings and technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong logical reasoning skills with an ability to identify patterns and anomalies within large, complex datasets.
- Collaborative Spirit: A team-oriented approach to problem-solving, comfortable working in a distributed or virtual team environment.
- Time Management & Organization: Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple concurrent deadlines, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Foundational familiarity with standard medical taxonomy coding metrics or general healthcare data parameters.
- Basic theoretical exposure to relational database design frameworks or writing select query strings in SQL.
