About the Role
This position coordinates the clinical experience and clinical sites where students receive clinical education.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates clinical sites in which students receive clinical experience.
- Collaborates with faculty to make student assignments and placements.
- May supervise, select, educate, and evaluate clinical faculty and preceptors as required by the Dean of Nursing.
- Assists in the orientation of new faculty to their clinical assignments, as necessary.
- Ensures clinical affiliation agreements are in place and current.
- Maintains and distributes necessary documents for student clinical experiences.
- May assist in evaluating student performance against program objectives through feedback from clinical instructors, including personal observations; provides regular feedback to students.
- Provides feedback to assist in the evaluation of clinical sites and clinical instructors against program objectives and accreditation criteria, including providing information to the Dean of Nursing for evaluation purposes.
- May receive, verify, and track student attendance.
- May ensure registrar’s records are accurate and students have completed required clinical hours.
- Problem-solves student and site issues to ensure program mission and goals are met.
- Participates in activities assigned by academic leadership to support the clinical experience, including student review, in-service training, and curriculum review.
- Builds effective relationships and partnerships in the professional community, leveraging knowledge of community needs, facilities, and operations to provide optimal clinical experiences for students.
- May be required to cover for clinical faculty when needed.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

- May assist in the supervision and evaluation of clinical instructors.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2 years' clinical experience in professional discipline.
- Proficient in course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
- CRT(R)(F) license.
- ARRT(R), Venipuncture Certificate (CDPH-RHB).
- This position requires you to be on site.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Frequently required to walk.
- Occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
