About the Role

Serves as a clinical and administrative support to the Nurse Manager on a designated unit to ensure the delivery of professional and outcomes-focused care. Accountable for daily staffing and unit-based follow-up of issues that assist in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care needs based on quality benchmarking, patient acuity/care trends, staff clinical education needs, and patient satisfaction.

Provides leadership to ensure excellence in nursing research, education, and practice. Works with the Nurse Manager to provide staff development and performance evaluations and collaborates with Nursing Coordinators to facilitate throughput. Represents the Nurse Manager/Director when needed.

The Clinical Coordinator provides nursing care and clinical leadership to achieve the organization’s mission of excellent patient care and nursing’s vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nurse Manager in delivering professional and outcomes-focused care.
• Manage daily staffing and address unit-based issues related to patient care needs.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on quality benchmarking, acuity trends, and staff education needs.
• Provide leadership in nursing research, education, and practice.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Manager on staff development and performance evaluations.
• Work with Nursing Coordinators to facilitate patient throughput.
• Represent the Nurse Manager/Director as needed.
• Promote autonomous and accountable nursing practice to enhance patient advocacy and care.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of Florida.
• Master’s degree in Nursing required (consideration given to those currently enrolled in a formal program to obtain an MSN).
• National nursing certification required within six months of hire.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical specialty.
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of patient care outcomes management.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to influence evidence-based practice.
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
