About the role

The Implementation Clinical Consultant demonstrates extensive knowledge of clinical operations, products, and services, providing clinical leadership to BD customers during the implementation of interoperability and connectivity products. This role collaborates with hospital clinicians, EMR vendors, and project managers to develop policies, workflows, and protocols, ensuring productive and timely implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership for BD customers in implementing interoperability and connectivity products.
  • Collaborate with hospital clinicians and EMR vendors to develop policies, procedures, workflows, and protocols; participate in resource group development, device education, go-live, and post-implementation consulting.
  • Interpret and resolve basic HL7 message failures, advancing to technical subject matter expert (SME) when appropriate.
  • Conduct follow-up with customers for system assessment, satisfaction, problem-solving, and product evaluation.
  • Develop recommendations to ensure customers fully benefit from implemented solutions.
  • Facilitate conference calls and customer meetings for small to medium hospital systems implementing BD Medication Systems Infusion products.
  • Establish rapport with customers to foster long-term business relationships.
  • Provide team support and product information on BD Medication Systems Infusion products as assigned.
  • Mentor team members to ensure product and process competency.
  • Manage customer teams, gain consensus, and deliver concise, consistent communication.
  • Guide the review of customer site assessments and facilitate project design and implementation of BD Medication Systems Infusion products.
  • Provide feedback to Business Operations and Field Trainers for continuous improvement of implementation methodology, tools, and services.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of clinical workflow processes, hospital data set/drug library build, clinical system integration, device settings, and interface validation for small to medium hospital systems.
  • Interact with and guide diverse cross-functional teams, focusing on large hospital systems and small/medium IDN-level health systems.
  • Apply expertise in BD Medication Systems Infusion product implementation methodologies and tools or equivalent industry standards.
  • Implement sophisticated projects while maintaining attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Support customers in improving business/practice operations, including standardization across small to medium hospital systems.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving, troubleshooting, and system consultation related to clinical workflow and process standardization.
  • Install and support BD Medication Systems Infusion hardware and software solutions.
  • Influence customer acceptance and utilization of BD Medication Systems Infusion products in multi-site or sophisticated environments.
  • Act as a customer support resource when critical.

Requirements

  • Nursing degree.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Current active nursing license.
  • Acute care hospital experience, preferably with nursing informatics or leadership; Pediatric, NICU, and Oncology experience highly desired.
  • Specific knowledge of BD business highly desired.
  • Valid driver’s license; must be at least 21 years old.
  • Home-based position with 75-100% overnight travel.
  • Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work independently from a home office.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs; position may involve pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and lifting.
  • Upon hire, must provide proof of and maintain current immunizations, including:
    • Hepatitis B
    • Influenza (current year)
    • MMR (mumps, measles, rubella)
    • Varicella (chicken pox)
    • Annual TB/PPD (skin test)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis
  • For most roles, a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week is required.

Pay

Salary range: $91,500.00 - $146,300.00 USD annually.

Schedule

  • Home-based position with 75-100% overnight travel.
  • Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Minimum of 4 days in-office presence per week for most roles.
