A Day in the Life of a Clinical Care Tech (Video)

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide nursing care, including taking vital signs, EKGs, and performing phlebotomy
• Assist with bedside care such as bathing, mouth care, and skin care
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Provide patient care based on physical, educational, safety, and age-appropriate criteria
• Ensure effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment, and critical actions
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding the status of patient care
• Participate in collaboration on the patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Previous nursing assistant experience, clinical experience from an accredited nursing program, or a CNA certificate (preferred)

Pay

The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $20.11 - $28.67 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Schedule

• 3-day-a-week schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend and some holidays required
