About the role

The Clinical Care Management Supervisor oversees the daily supervision of clinical team members, ensuring services are authorized according to medical necessity criteria and aligned with CBH’s mission and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong clinical team through recruiting, training, performance management, coaching, team building, and succession planning.
  • Apply knowledge of behavioral health care services, system partners, and medical necessity criteria in all work activities.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of Clinical Care Managers and other direct reports.
  • Monitor quality and quantity of reviews and provide feedback.
  • Collaborate across clinical teams to facilitate and coordinate care.
  • Attend assigned meetings and actively participate in supervision and clinical case consultations.
  • Ensure high-quality customer service when interacting with members, providers, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in grievance hearings as assigned.
  • Collaborate across functional areas to operationalize policy and procedure changes.
  • Develop protocols for communication between Clinical Care Managers and providers.
  • Facilitate internal clinical meetings and external provider meetings.
  • Accompany Clinical Care Managers into the community to provide ongoing clinical supervision and feedback.
  • Use data-driven decision-making to ensure accuracy of member-level data and timely communication.
  • Collaborate with other Clinical Supervisors to develop consistent expectations and supervision for clinical staff.
  • Obtain and review data relevant to members served, clinical operations, and staff monitoring to guide interventions.
  • Model and require exceptional customer service in interactions with members and providers.
  • Document supervision notes and next steps consistent with field standards.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Team-Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of Clinical Care Managers on the Adult Complex Care Team (e.g., JOH ASAM 3.5 providers, Mother and child ASAM 3.5, identified Complex members).
  • Ensure Clinical Care Managers coordinate with other teams (Adult Acute, ASAM, IDS, DBHIDS) to promote longitudinal care.
  • Ensure Clinical Care Managers review cases and identify immediate and longitudinal needs of members with complex needs.
  • Oversee implementation of population stratification approaches.
  • Collaborate with physical health entities to ensure smooth referral and communication processes.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance required.
  • 3 years of post-graduate experience with a minimum of 6 months of supervisory experience.

  • Proficient in MS Office and typing at least 20 words per minute.
  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Work Conditions

  • Must be able to travel within Philadelphia and surrounding counties.
  • Ability to work off-site as needed.
  • Regularly requires walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and/or repetitive wrist/hand movements.
  • Ability to utilize computers and office equipment to complete daily work responsibilities.
  • Works inside in adequately lighted and ventilated areas with some temperature fluctuations.
  • Must adapt to continuous changes and demands of the job.

Residency Requirement

The successful candidate must be a current Philadelphia resident or become one within six months of hire.
