Clinical Care Leader, Inpatient - Endoscopy/GI Lab

About the role

The Registered Nurse in the Clinical Care Leader (CCL) role facilitates health care services for patients in cooperation with the health care team. The role involves facilitating communication and provision of information and messages to produce clarity and impact. It also includes understanding the importance of inter-team collaboration and leading employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
• Collaborates with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Applies the concept of collaboration to build relationships and coordinate with other teams.
• Provides feedback to members of the health care team.
• Coordinates the clinical/unit nursing activities while adhering to Sanford Health philosophy, goals, and standards of care.
• Acknowledges their impact on budget and finance through staffing and ensuring safe patient care.
• Uses critical thinking skills to collaborate and coordinate patient care and manage emergent situations, for the specific assigned clinical setting.
• Intervenes when unsafe practices are identified.
• Makes patient assignments based on employee's competencies, scope of practice, experience and patient's unique needs.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills to negotiate and resolve conflicts with and between peers, inter-professional colleagues, patients and families.
• Serves as a mentor to staff while facilitating the over-all unit activities.
• Participates in house-wide and/or departmental committees and assists with the coordination of the Peer Review Process for employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, those accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
• Minimum of two years’ clinical experience preferred.
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of employment into position.

$36.50 - $55.00 per hour
