Clinical Cancer Geneticist - Health Sciences Professor Series
About the role
The Division of Genetic and Genomic Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, UCI School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Clinical Geneticist with expertise in cancer genetics.
Responsibilities
- Provides outpatient care and inpatient consultation services to a diverse patient population in the cancer genetics clinics at UC Irvine Health, and in pediatric, metabolic, adult, and prenatal genetics clinics at UCI and affiliated hospitals.
- Participates in didactic and clinical training of residents, fellows, genetic counseling graduate students, medical students, and other trainees.
- Provides community outreach.
- Engages in clinical, translational, and basic science research.
Requirements
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D and/or equivalent in the related field of study.
- California physician and surgeon license or eligibility to become licensed.
- ABMGG board - certification or active candidacy in Clinical Genetics and Genomics or another relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service and/or research suitable for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience in clinical genetics and genomics.
- Ability to teach and mentor.
- Research experience in genetics and genomics.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Benefits
This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
Pay
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmark for Genetics $189,800 - $263,649.00. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment.
Schedule
Full-time position.
