Clinical Audiologist - Outpatient Audiology Clinic
About the role
We are searching for a Clinical Audiologist to provide the highest quality age-appropriate audiologic care for patients newborn to 21 years of age within the scope of practice and established practice standards for Audiology at the Outpatient Audiology Clinic in The Woodlands. The Clinical Generalist functions effectively as a member of the clinical team and supports the mission of Texas Children’s Hospital.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides diagnostic assessments
- Documentation and patient/family education
- Amplification evaluations, dispensing, verification, validation, programming, and training
- Counsels and educates parents regarding test results, recommendations, and financial resources
- At least 2 director-approved ½ hour topic or case presentations per year to staff, residents, parents, community, and other professionals
- Performs test room listening checks
- Hearing aid room maintenance and software updates
- Serves on audiology committees or specialty teams
Qualifications
- Doctorate required; Doctorate in Audiology preferred
- Texas Audiology License (TXAUDLIC) from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (or Texas Department of State Health if issued prior to 2017)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) – American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (within 6 months of position start date)
- American Board of Audiology Certification (ABA-CERT) (within 6 months of entering the role)
