Clinical Assistant Professor - Physician Associate Master of Medicine Program

About the role

The University of New Haven, founded in 1920, seeks to hire a 12-month Non-Tenure Track Faculty for the Physician Associate Program starting in January 2026. This position supports all aspects of the program, including teaching didactic content, clinical coordination, adhering to ARC-PA standards, student advising, and more.

Responsibilities

• Teach content within the physician associate program.
• Support the clinical coordinator in establishing clinical affiliations and supporting clinical year students.
• Adhere to ARC-PA standards.
• Support and contribute to the program’s ongoing assessment plan.
• Provide advising services for physician associate students.
• Assess clinical documentation during students’ clinical placement experiences.
• Participate in student assessment throughout the program.
• Serve on assigned committees on the program, school, and university level.
• Participate in the program’s student remediation process.

Requirements

• Requires a minimum of a master's degree.
• NCCPA Certification (new graduates awaiting PANCE scores may apply, but must successfully pass PANCE prior to beginning employment).
• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant or physician associate program.
• Eligible for a Connecticut physician assistant license.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in the teaching role.

• Demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and innovation, active-learning, and student engagement of students with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in the classroom, with colleagues, in written work, community, and in listening.

Qualifications
