About the role

The Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics at The University of Kansas Medical Center provides high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care for hospitalized pediatric patients at The University of Kansas Health System's main campus. This position provides comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management of pediatric patients within the inpatient setting and supports the clinical, educational, quality improvement, scholarly, and service missions of the department and division.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care for hospitalized pediatric patients at The University of Kansas Health System's main campus
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of pediatric patients and develop individualized treatment and care plans based on current clinical evidence and patient needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to support patient health, safety, continuity of care, and other clinical initiatives
  • Contribute to the education, training, and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and other designated learners in inpatient pediatric care and related areas
  • Participate in departmental and divisional meetings, teaching rounds, seminars, case conferences, committees, and other academic activities as assigned
  • Engage in departmental, divisional, and institutional quality improvement initiatives that support the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality pediatric care
  • Participate in scholarly activities and research aligned with the mission and priorities of the Department of Pediatrics and Division of General Pediatrics
  • Maintain required certifications and participate in ongoing professional development to maintain clinical expertise and fulfill applicable institutional and professional requirements

Qualifications

  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
  • Board eligible (BE) or Board Certified (BC) in Pediatrics
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the State of Kansas
