About the role

As a Clinical Assistant at Monument Health, you will be valued as an essential team member providing compassionate patient-focused care. You will work collaboratively both under supervision and independently to provide direct and indirect patient care in the clinic setting, participating as an active member of the healthcare team by performing assigned tasks and functions in accordance with Monument Health policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.
  • Complete patient rooming procedures including vital signs, data collection, and other identified components specific to the clinic setting and outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
  • Assist with Point of Care laboratory testing following successful competency training.
  • Ensure documentation in the patient record is accurate, clear, and concise within outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
  • Complete all assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance/ordering as directed.
  • Assist with scheduling follow-up care as ordered/directed.
  • In some clinic locations, may assist the medical imaging department to perform limited x-ray exams following successful competency training.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) — must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: High School Diploma/GED in General Studies.
  • Education: 80 hours of initial training in radiation safety, positioning, and image review.
  • Preferred: Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.

Physical Requirements

Heavy work — exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or up to 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or up to 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or up to 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.

Schedule

Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Pay

Starting pay rate range: $16.52 - $19.00, determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant.
