Clinical Assistant Primary Care

This PRN role supports Taylor, Dearborn, Southgate, Wyandotte, and possibly other surrounding cities.

About the role

The Clinical Assistant is a staff member who coordinates aspects of patient care by managing communication and clerical tasks essential to the functioning of the department. In addition to these tasks, the Clinical Assistant monitors and stocks supplies and provides patient care as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse or designee.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse or designee.
• Handle clerical duties, manage supplies, and equipment in designated care areas.
• Provide care to patients according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy.
• Document in the electronic medical record.
• Act as a receptionist and organize daily work assignments based on unit priorities.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.

Preferred

• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association (required within 180 days) or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – ARC American Red Cross (required).
• CRT-Nursing Assistant – LARA-BCHS Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs (upon hire preferred).
