Eastern Washington University and the College of Health Science and Public Health invite applications for a Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Faculty position beginning August 16, 2025. We will select one or more positions from this applicant pool. The appointments will be for the fall semester of the 2025-2026 academic year and will continue as a nine-month academic year appointment.

About the role

Clinical Faculty are full-time faculty who report to the School of Nursing (SON) Director. Responsibilities include teaching in classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulated learning environments. While primarily focused on teaching, faculty may also engage in service to department, college, university, and professional committees; research, grant writing, and professional presentations; mentoring student projects; and community outreach. Faculty follow all guidance from the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) regarding their position.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulated learning environments

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Unencumbered Washington Registered Nurse license, or eligible for licensure
  • Current healthcare provider CPR certification
  • At least three (3) years recent clinical experience in assigned clinical area
  • Prior teaching experience in a clinical, laboratory, or simulated learning environment
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with students, faculty peers, patients, clinical partners, and others
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach supportive of diverse needs, including universal access

Additional requirement for Clinical Associate: Six or more years of relevant teaching and professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in nursing or a health or education related field
  • Five (5) or more years recent clinical experience
  • One (1) or more years of prior experience teaching in a clinical, laboratory, or simulated learning environment
  • Experience working with Canvas or another learning management system
  • Demonstrated experience working with or interacting with diverse communities across race, class, ability, sexuality, and gender

Pay

The expected salary upon hire is $72,419 for a Clinical Assistant and $86,809 for a Clinical Associate.

Schedule

  • 9-month academic year appointment (mid-August through mid-May)
  • Full-time (100%) during the academic year
  • Schedule will vary from semester to semester to fulfill the position’s responsibilities

Anticipated Start Date: August 16, 2025

This position requires a background check and compliance with EWU Immunization Policy 602-02, including proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR. Waivers are available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.
