Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor
This is a full-time clinical faculty position in the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
About the role
Responsibilities include clinical teaching, provision of hospital minor and major cases, seminars and lectures to advanced and predoctoral students, clinical coverage and supervision, provision of on-call services, and participation on School of Dentistry committees and governance. Opportunities are available for research activity, integration into the division’s continuing education activities, participation in the divisional group practice, and involvement in the cleft lip/cleft palate and craniofacial multidisciplinary team clinic and conferences.
Responsibilities
- Clinical teaching at resident and predoctoral levels
- Provision of hospital minor and major oral and maxillofacial surgery cases
- Delivery of seminars and lectures to advanced and predoctoral students
- Clinical coverage and supervision of students and residents
- Provision of on-call services
- Participation on School of Dentistry committees and governance
- Opportunities for research activity and continuing education integration
- Participation in the divisional group practice
- Optional involvement in cleft lip/cleft palate and craniofacial multidisciplinary team clinic and conferences
Requirements
- DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree
- Completion of a CODA-accredited advanced education training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons or eligibility for certification
- Full Minnesota dental license or eligibility for full dental/specialist licensure in Minnesota
- Full dental anesthesia license or eligibility for full dental anesthesia licensure in Minnesota
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Experienced surgeon in full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery, including both clinical and minor/major operating room procedures
- Evidence of quality teaching at both resident and predoctoral levels
Preferred Experience
- Clinical teaching with lectures and seminars
- Providing clinical coverage and supervision at predoctoral and resident levels
- Participation in committees and governance
- Involvement in and provision of continuing education
- Clinical practice experience
- Mentorship of faculty and students

Pay
Pay range: $290,000 – $310,000, depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
