Clinical Assistant, Inpatient Medicine (9 East) - 36hrs

9 East is a 25-bed inpatient medical unit that operates 24/7, caring for patients of all ages with conditions such as general medical, gastroenterology, pulmonary, immunology, rheumatology, metabolism, toxicology and behavioral health issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic direct care to patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse, following established procedures and instructions.
• Assist patients with feeding and hygiene.
• Obtain, measure, and record routine information such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
• Perform other related duties according to the specific needs of the unit.
• Transport patients, supplies, and equipment as needed.
• Identify and report unusual findings or changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of CA experience, CNA certification, or Nursing Student with at least one clinical rotation.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work on a team.
• Ability to exchange information on factual matters, greet visitors, explain hospital policies, and relay messages to appropriate personnel with courtesy and respect.

This is a permanent position; temporary hires (e.g., summer only) will not be considered.

Schedule

36 hours per week, rotating days/nights, and every third weekend.

Pay

The posted pay range reflects Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation at the time of posting. Any base pay offer depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
