Works under the supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide assistive care and communication for patients and their families in outpatient specialty clinics, as well as support for team members, professional and technical staff, and visitors. Provides safe, age-appropriate care and contributes to efficient clinic operations.
About the clinic
The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Children’s of Alabama provides comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic treatment of a broad range of pediatric endocrine and diabetes disorders. This is a high volume, fast-paced clinic that features 30 clinical exam rooms, 6 triage bays, 2 stimulation testing rooms, 1 procedure room, and 3 classrooms to be able to accommodate a large volume of patients. The Endocrine Clinic is supported by 12 Endocrinologists, 6 Fellows, and 10 Nurse Practitioners. The Endocrine Clinic also has multiple areas of support staff including Diabetes Educators, Insulin Pump Educators, Clinic Nurses, Endocrine Nurses, Clinic Aides, and Secretarial staff.
Schedule
Full-time on the Day Shift, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm; Monday–Friday.
Requirements
Candidate must have at least one of the following:
- Six months of patient care experience within the last two years
- Enrolled in a medical related college program and in clinical rotation
- CNA, CMA, PCT or EMT certification
Qualifications
- Essential: Basic Life Support certification
- Essential: High School Diploma Graduate or Equivalent
- Nonessential: 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Patient Care Support or any of the following equivalent qualifications: Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant ARMA, Certified Patient Care Technician, Certified Emergency Medical Technician ADPH
