About the role
A Clinical Assistant is a vital, hands-on member of the care team who works directly with patients and providers in clinics, hospitals, and specialty practices. This role offers paid, patient-facing clinical experience before medical, nursing, or PA school.
Responsibilities
- Work with doctors to room patients
- Absorb and assist with procedure setup
- Perform point-of-care testing, take vitals, and phlebotomy services
- Manage patient flow, from check-in to discharge
- Maintain patient records and monitor pending labs and radiology orders
- Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent
- Facilitate the transition of care to urgent care or hospital
- Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Proof of vaccinations (may be required)
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Strong listening and communication skills
- Flexible schedule availability
- Ability to stand, sit, and use a computer for several hours a day
- Access to a laptop (provided after training but need your own for training)
Qualifications
No prior experience required — we’ll train you! Paid training through Scribe University and hands-on clinical instruction. Real-life clinical exposure, mentorship, and physician shadowing are also available.

Pay
The compensation range for this position is $17.25, depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
Schedule
- Part-time (2–3 shifts per week)
- Full-time (3–4 shifts per week)
- Shifts are usually 8 hours but can vary depending on site needs
- Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
