About the role
The Utah Valley Clinic of Planned Parenthood Association of Utah (PPAU) is hiring a full-time (40 hours/wk) Clinical Assistant, eligible for full benefits. This position requires working Saturdays.
Responsibilities
- Supports patient care by assisting with patient care, handling financial and clerical tasks, supporting facility upkeep, and helping train team members, interns/externs, and volunteers.
- Communicates with clients in a non-directive manner about all options available to them in the event of an unintended pregnancy and makes referrals based on the client's needs.
- Affirms center opening, closing, maintenance, and cleanliness of the clinic as scheduled.
- Performs routine office duties, including answering the telephone, making appointments, providing referrals, explaining and collecting fees, entering client information into computer.
- Maintains client record systems and lab results and ensures accurate input of information into the computer system.
- Interviews clients according to client-centered education methods to obtain medical history and provide client education.
- Provides factual, non-biased information to all clients about all FDA approved birth control methods and information those seeking abortion in accordance with PPAU policy and medical guidelines.
- Assists medical provider in the examination and procedure-surgical rooms.
- Describes the difference between medical and surgical abortions. Performs phlebotomy, specific laboratory duties for abortion services including processing products of conception.
- Affirms medical office is clean and appropriately stocked with proper equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
- Two years of clinical experience is required.
- Experience in a medical center setting is preferred.
- Education in the medical area or in family planning is preferred but not required.
- Computer competency is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking is preferred.

Pay
The salary for this position is $20.00 an hour. Upon passing our Spanish proficiency exam, your hourly pay will increase by $1.00 to reflect this essential contribution.
Schedule
This position requires working Saturdays.
