Responsibilities
- Verifies patient information (medical history, purpose of visit) by communicating with a patient
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature
- Records appropriate patient information on patient charts and/or Salesforce
- Safeguards patient information and maintains confidentiality
- Counsels patients by transmitting physician’s orders and answering questions about surgery
- Aids in the preparation of charts, pre-admission, and consent forms
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and procedures
- Maintains inventory of supplies as needed
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Medical Terminology knowledge preferred
- Holds and maintains an active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Laboratory Assistant Licensure through the State of Nevada's Department of Health & Human Services Division of Public and Behavioral Health required for Las Vegas applicants
