Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, Oral Medicine

University of Florida College of Dentistry (UFCD) is seeking a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor for the Division of Oral Medicine, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences (OMDS). UFCD is a leading dental school dedicated to improving oral health through excellence in teaching, research, patient care, and service.

About the role

The faculty position involves didactic and clinical teaching of predoctoral and advanced education students, participation in clinical practice, and development of a research program. The faculty member will engage in scholarly activities and institutional service.

Responsibilities

• Teach predoctoral and advanced education students in didactic and clinical settings
• Provide clinical care in Oral Medicine
• Participate in scholarly activities and research
• Contribute to institutional service and related duties

Requirements

• DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree
• Completion of an Oral Medicine Residency/Certificate from a CODA-accredited program or an Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Residency/Certificate from a CODA-accredited program
• Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Oral Medicine or Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology
• Previous teaching experience in Oral Medicine
• Previous clinical experience in Oral Medicine

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching DMD and advanced education students
• Clinical practice experience with oral medicine patients, including chronic oral diseases, oral oncology, and supportive care in cancer
• Proficiency in clinical biopsies and/or experience managing patients with facial pain
• Involvement in research or scholarly activities
