Position Overview

The Ohio State University’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for a clinical faculty member to teach in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the Assistant or Associate Professor-Clinical rank. This initial 5-year appointment is renewable in 3 - 5 year terms based on continued need and annual reviews.

This is a clinical faculty position, non-tenure. The rank is Assistant or Associate Professor - Clinical.

Performance Objectives

  • teach DPT students in-person and online in one of the identified need areas listed above;
  • contribute to our graduate programs (MS or PhD) in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences;
  • mentor students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles;
  • mentor students completing case study projects in the DPT program;
  • contribute to the science of the profession through a focused scholarship program;
  • contribute high level service to the program, School, College, University and professional organizations.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Required: Doctoral degree in physical therapy (or bachelors or master's in physical therapy plus an earned academic doctorate); licensure or eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist in the State of Ohio; evidence of strong teaching ability, including experience with online learning management systems; ability to mentor graduate & professional students. Clinical expertise in one or more of these areas: neurology, geriatrics, clinical reasoning and differential diagnosis, pediatrics, or clinical education administration.
  • Desired: Earned academic doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD, ScD, DHSc). ABPTS certified specialist in a relevant field of physical therapy.
