Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Simulation Pedagogy
Position Details
The Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing (MNSON) invites applications for a clinical track faculty position. We are especially interested in faculty engaged in teaching, curricular development, and integration of simulation pedagogy.
This is a 12-month non-tenure track open rank position for appointment at the clinical assistant professor rank or higher based on the applicant’s education, program of scholarship, and teaching experience. Within the context of the Loyola University Chicago and MNSON missions, visions, values, and strategic initiatives, the faculty member will:
- Use high, medium, and low-fidelity simulation modalities to provide high-quality learning experiences to pre-licensure and advanced practice nursing students.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum and course planning, improvement, and evaluation.
- Develop and disseminate scholarship that advances nursing practice and education.
- Engage in service activities consistent with the mission and strategic vision of the MNSON, the University, and the nursing profession.
- Contribute to the MNSON and University goals for inclusive excellence.
Qualifications
- Experience facilitating high-quality simulation scenarios
- Clinical experience as a registered professional nurse
- Potential to establish and maintain a program of scholarship, consistent with the expectations of rank
- Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare is desirable

- Understanding of barriers: Describe your understanding of the barriers for historically underrepresented groups (URGs) in nursing.
- Past activities: Discuss activities contributing to inclusive excellence. Examples may include teaching/curriculum, mentoring/advising/tutoring, outreach efforts, committees, task forces, and boards, scholarship and/or research, and other initiatives.
- Future plans: Describe how you plan to contribute to inclusive excellence in the MNSON, including activities you would pursue and how they would fit into your teaching, scholarship, and service.
