Education Requirements
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree preferred in Information Technology or related health care field or equivalent work experience.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Information Technology or equivalent experience in business or job related role.
- A Minimum Of 3 Years Management Experience Is Preferred.
- Experience in Healthcare IT management is preferred.
Required Skills
- Supervise, support, advise, monitor, and assess all staff and direct reports who lead or assist with system administration, system security, system configuration, issue resolution, projects, and testing activities.
- Assess priorities of customer-stated needs and problems related to both hospital operations and the flow of information with respect to patient care, strategic objectives, government mandates, operational requirements, or financial processes.
- Analyze business processes and develop RFIs and RFPs as well as prepare proposals for business owner review.
- Exercise project management skills including critical path methodology, system life cycles, resource allocation, and schedule updates.
- Possess the ability to listen, communicate, deliver formal presentations, manage issues and solution alternatives as a team member and team leader.
- Act as a mentor to other IS staff, other systems analysts and customer business analysts.
- Ensure that each staff member and direct report enters all IS-related work activities including projects, trouble calls, customer requests, and customer change requests regarding computer hardware, computer software, application software, networking, and telecommunications, into the Information Services ticket system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain the contents of the Application Portfolio appropriately and provide the required documentation in a timely manner.
- Understand and comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Take part in training and education to keep technical skills, industry knowledge, and best practices up-to-date.
- Obtain appropriate memberships and attend required conferences and training.
- Perform Workflow Assessments for new hardware and software requests; maintain inventory as required, and provide precise, accurate updates in a timely manner.
- Be able to comprehend and assist in the development of the annual operational and capital budget.
- Be available to customers for support during live events and critical incidents.
- Lead or manage multiple small to large projects, coordinate resources across the entire organization or department as well as develop, organize, and prepare comprehensive project plans in order to deliver required formal presentations to organization management and project teams on status, accomplishments, issues, and solution alternatives.
- Assume responsibility for all privacy, security, administrative, and operational duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Work is largely sedentary, with occasional standing and walking.
- Reaches, handles, lifts, and carries heavy books, manuals, and listings, which seldom exceed twenty pounds in weight.
- Works in a clean, well-lit, heated, and ventilated office environment.
- May be required to work prolonged or irregular hours, take on-call, and attend occasional meetings.
- Hours are generally 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday but weekend and after-hours work is occasionally required.
