Contractor role supporting the Global Epidemiology function in Clinical Sciences, reporting to a real-world data and analytics leader. Remote position.
About the role
Provides expertise in real-world data and analysis methods within Clinical Sciences. Develops data and statistical analysis plans, executes data analysis with minimal oversight, and delivers results to epidemiologists and cross-functional teams. Conducts comprehensive literature reviews for real-world data methodology and coding algorithms, and offers insights into epidemiology study concepts and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Apply general to advanced epidemiology research techniques to address drug safety questions.
- Identify and utilize public and private epidemiology databases and resources for data analysis.
- Independently manage data and statistical analysis plans, analyze epidemiology databases, and prepare tables and figures. Communicate results clearly to epidemiologists and cross-functional members.
- Contribute to the design of observational studies, including registries, and critically appraise study protocols through inter-departmental and cross-functional committees.
- Convert sales data to exposure data, stratified by factors such as age groups, gender, and indications using real-world data.
- Provide epidemiology data for core safety and regulatory documents, including RMPs, PSURs, and Briefing Books.
- Use analysis tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, Aetion) for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews for analytics methodology and coding algorithms related to real-world data.
Requirements
- MPH or MS degree in Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Pharmacy Administration, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred.
- 4-5 years of epidemiology and/or public health experience with a Master’s degree, or 1-2 years with a Ph.D. Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with SAS, SQL, R, or related statistical software for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Familiarity with real-world data concepts and structures (e.g., health insurance claims, EMRs), with extensive experience manipulating and analyzing these databases.
- Knowledge and experience in different therapeutic areas.
