About the role

Winchester Hospital is a 5x Magnet designated, Top 10 Massachusetts recognized 183-bed regional hospital that is the leading provider of comprehensive health care services in the northwest suburban Boston area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide both clinical and administrative assistance on the unit
  • Perform basic procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort, and safety of patients; assisting with ADLs, ambulating patients, making occupied/unoccupied beds, transporting patients, collecting/labeling/transporting specimens, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs
  • Welcome and orient patients, family members, and significant others to the environment
  • Provide administrative support for the unit and staff so the patient care team can concentrate on providing superior patient care
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical charts for the patients, including the forms necessary for daily use
  • Copy and fax paperwork as necessary to expedite the patient care process among hospital departments and outside sources if appropriate

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have/be one of the following:
    • Certified Nursing Assistant
    • Nursing student with completion of one medical-surgical clinical rotation
    • Three months clinical care experience
    • Graduate of the Winchester Hospital’s Clinical Associate Training Program
  • For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and fellow members of the hospital team
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic Life Support certification required

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of previous work experience in an administrative support role
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification

Pay

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay: $19.50 - $26.24. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
