Clinic Support

About the role

The Clinic Support Specialist is responsible for performing administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the Clinic Manager. They will coordinate with transportation departments to schedule transportation to/from the PACE clinic and outside provider appointments. They will also greet and check in patients arriving at the clinic, perform appropriate clinical tasks within their scope of practice, restock clinic supplies, and prepare exam/treatment rooms for patient examinations.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule participant visits within the PACE clinic & with outside medical providers.
  • Cookordinate with transportation department to schedule transportation to/from PACE clinic and outside provider appointments.
  • Greet and check in patients arriving at the clinic.
  • Perform appropriate clinical tasks within their scope of practice, as directed by the provider such as giving injections, basic wound care, toenail trimming in non-diabetic participants, and removing sutures.
  • Restock clinic supplies in each exam room at the end of each day per established par levels.
  • Order, receive, and stock clinic/medical supplies.
  • Follow correct policy and procedure for reporting of incidents: staff, residents, etc.
  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean throughout the day.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a state approved training program in Medical Assisting or Certified Nurses Aide.
  • Minimum of one-year experience working with a frail or elderly population.
  • Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies.
  • Ability to understand medical charts, doctor’s orders, the participant’s plan of care, Primary Care Provider orders, and to communicate with participants and staff.

Skills

Must have the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and as delegated by the licensed nurse. $21-$23 based on experience

Schedule

M-F, 8a-5pm, occasional evenings and weekends
