Description
Responsible for patient care in the Wound Care Center. This includes utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care through hospital and nursing standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides case management to a group of patients, including specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management.
- Acts as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care.
- Provides efficient and effective care with guidance from the physician during clinic sessions, attends clinics when scheduled, and is dependable.
- Able to manage multiple patients simultaneously with high energy and organization.
- Collaborates with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center physicians, Program Director, and Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Medical, surgical, home health, or wound care experience preferred.
- Current MS RN license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Wound Care certification preferred.
Skills
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as web-based database programs and the internet.
