Clinic Physician, Park Clinic, Pain Management

About the Role

Positively impact patient lives by providing expert, full-spectrum care in a sole community-focused hospital and clinic located in a rural setting. In collaboration with advanced practice providers and other team members, provide effective and efficient medical care services, consultation, and supervision to patients.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, order, and interpret appropriate labs, and treat patient injuries and illnesses.
• Perform thorough examinations (including wellness checks), consultations, prescribe medication, and oversee immunization needs and administration.
• Provide education and guidance regarding overall health, development, and wellbeing to patients and their support systems.
• Monitor and promote the overall health of patients.
• Adapt assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate physical, cultural, age-specific, and other developmental needs of each person served.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including primary care physicians and other specialists.
• Participate in committees and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide training to medical staff, students, and residents as needed.
• Remain available for consultation, assist with medical emergencies, and make patient referrals.
• Participate in clinic and hospital committee meetings.
• Engage with the local community to promote health and wellness; participate in outreach programs and health fairs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with patients and their support systems.
• Review patient records and maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and medical standards.
• Participate in program evaluation and policy reviews.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities.
• Attend and complete Continuing Medical Education (CME) annually if required.
• Adhere to and promote safety protocols at all times.
• Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of a residency program.
• Proficiency in epidemiology and infectious diseases.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, including a proactive, coordinated approach with specialized care management for patients with complex chronic medical conditions.
• Ability to prescribe drugs/medication appropriate for assigned patient population, including thorough understanding and ability to educate others on side effects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible.
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Oklahoma.
• Maintain current DEA and BNDD numbers.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; fluency in oral and written English.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate electronic health records and information technology tools.
• Ability to remain flexible and adapt to urgent situations.
• Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to meet job requirements.
• The relationship between the physician and physician extenders must comply with the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision, Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners, and/or Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
• For positions requiring travel, a current valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Additional Information

This is a "Safety-Sensitive" position as defined by Oklahoma law. Applicants cannot test positive for Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in pre-employment or any subsequent drug tests, even with a valid medical marijuana card.

This position requires respirator and fit testing for team members at risk of exposure to airborne infectious diseases, droplet-producing procedures, or caustic chemicals.

As a condition of employment, vaccinations are required per DRH policy. Medical and religious exemptions are available upon request.
