About the role

The Clinic Patient Registration Specialist at Summit Orthopedics plays a crucial role in ensuring that all clinic and Orthopedic Urgent Care patients have an efficient and welcoming experience. This role involves greeting, registering, verifying medical and demographic information, scheduling follow-up appointments, and providing general support to patients and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all aspects of Registration and Scheduling Standards efficiently and accurately, including registering and scheduling patients by collecting needed medical and demographic information;
  • Collect, apply, and reconcile co-pays and payments;
  • Obtain and accurately enter Insurance information;
  • Follow all insurance and scheduling protocols to assure accurate and compliant billing;
  • Cookordinate interpreters and QRCs, as needed;
  • Prepare next day patient charts for teams;
  • Distribute couriered mail, postal mail and faxes;
  • Communicate with teams/providers, as necessary, to provide a seamless and positive experience for the patient;
  • Manage and coordinate patient pick up items including records and medical imaging CD’s, while obtaining proper authorization and documentation;
  • Responsible for ensuring the patient lobby is accessible, neat and orderly;
  • Perform various administrative duties and other duties, as needed and assigned;
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patients, teams, providers and staff by being attentive, respectful and helpful.

Requirements

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in registration or a related field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, and knowledge of electronic health record systems is preferred.

Qualifications

Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Must be flexible to float to other Summit locations as needed.

Skills

Excellent customer service skills, strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of electronic health record systems are preferred.

Pay

The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials, and/or deferred compensation. In addition to the base salary, the hired candidate may be eligible for these additional forms of compensation.

Schedule

This is a full-time position based at our Plymouth Bass Lake campus. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (subject to change).
