Clinic Manager | Medical Specialty Clinics
General Summary
The Clinic Manager at Phelps Health provides day-to-day management and clinical and operational oversight of the assigned clinics. This role involves close working relationships with providers and direct oversight of clinical and office staff functions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Aids in the development and implementation of quality improvement plans to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Collaborates with the Quality Assurance Nurse to ensure all quality controls, measures, and competencies meet regulations.
Aids in the development and implementation of the capital and operational budgets.
Reviews each assigned cost center budget monthly to ensure they stay within budget and re-evaluates monthly staffing ratios to meet Premier benchmarks.
Aids in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
Identifies process improvements within the clinic setting and works collaboratively with the Management team, Quality Assurance Nurse, and Care Coordinator.
Coordinates orientation and competency validations for new staff members and ensures staff compliance with orientation, training, and performance documentation.
Supervises clinic staff and makes recommendations for hiring and termination.
Super users for the Scheduling and EMR software and assists in development, training, and ongoing support.
Edits staff and patients on the patient portal benefits and assists with signing up patients.
Determines the need for and plans staff development, training, and continuing education.
Develops and maintains a professional and nurturing atmosphere for patients, families, providers, and staff.
Supervises clinic staff and manages office routines and patient flow processes, working closely with physicians to support the practice setting.
Schedules staff, monitors attendance, and approves PDO requests for staff and providers.
Maintains personal standards, stays focused under pressure, promotes a team atmosphere, and meets attendance/punctuality requirements.
Works with other departments to assure compliance with all regulations and standards concerning medical clinic operations, including Corporate Compliance, OSHA, CMS, HIPAA, JC, etc.
Stays up to date on Rural Health Clinic regulations, Meaningful Use, and PQRS.
Education
- Bachelor's (or higher) in Management or Business Administration or a License Practical Nursing/Registered Nursing Degree, High School Diploma with relevant years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3-4 years healthcare experience.
- Management experience highly preferred.
- Experience with operational and strategic aspects of physician practices preferred.
Certification/License
- Current Missouri LPN/RN license, if applicable.
- Valid Missouri driver’s license required.
- American Heart Association, Basic Life Support certification required.
