About the Role
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
Position Details
Clinic LPN - Pediatrics at Mercy Hospital St. Louis, St. Peter's Cottleville Clinic (4525 Mid Rivers Mall Drive). Full-time position, 36 hours per week.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
- Current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed; must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
- Can be a new or experienced LPN.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
- One or more of the following certifications may be required based on the position/unit or within a department-required timeframe:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
- Six Assessment & Care Modules
- Other unit-specific certifications as required
- Preferred: IV Certification within 1 year of hire.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk most of the time on duty.
- Significant amount of bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance.
- Push, pull, and grip up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
