Clinic Clerk
Job Summary
You will be the welcoming face and organizational hub of our clinic, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every patient. Your responsibilities include managing patient registration and scheduling, processing patient flow, addressing billing inquiries, and providing essential clerical support.
Responsibilities
- Expertly manage patient registration and scheduling
- Efficiently process patient flow
- Address billing inquiries
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle financial transactions securely
- Remain vigilant for any patient needs
- Contribute to a smooth, on-schedule operation
- Perform all aspects of chart maintenance, including pulling and preparing charts for the following day and setting up new files as needed
- Schedule patient appointments, including initial, recheck, and pre-ops
- Update schedule changes and perform necessary rescheduling of patients
- Print and distribute daily clinic schedule
- Provide clerical support for outgoing and incoming referrals for patients as requested
- Maintain medical records, including requesting records as needed, filing, and retrieving records, documents, and correspondence in a timely manner
- Contact and reschedule clients that have not shown up for their appointment via phone or letter, and give the chart to the Practitioner for follow-up review
- Answer telephones, including routing incoming calls as appropriate, and document accurately telephone messages for clinicians
- Complete daily charge sheets using CDM/CPT-HCPCS crosswalk and verify completion of charge sheets against charge posting daily report, obtaining necessary information from practitioners to accurately complete daily charge sheets
Requirements
- Two years recent outpatient medical clinic clerical experience (may waive based on a combination of education/training)
