About the role

The Clinic Care Assistant participates in the care of patients in a clinic setting by:

• Measuring and recording vital signs
• Placing patients in rooms
• Preparing patients and families for exams/procedures
• Providing patient/family support
• Auxiliarying the nursing staff and healthcare providers during exams and procedures
• Maintaining appropriate visit notes, test, and x-ray results
• Performing clinic-specific technical skills
• Maintaining the clinic environment including supplies and equipment
• May be required to float to other ACU clinics as needed for staffing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• State of Florida CNA Certification required
• May substitute one of the following for CNA Certification:
  • Nursing student currently enrolled in an approved program for preparation of professional nurses
  • Nursing student currently enrolled in an approved program for preparation of Licensed Practical Nurses
• Basic Life Support (CPR) is required (or must be obtained within first month of employment)
• Initiative, multitasking ability, and responsibility-taking are essential
• Proven problem-solving and teamwork skills are essential
• Understanding of medical terminology is preferred
• Successful completion of practice-specific training requirements and demonstration of practice-specific competencies
• No motor vehicle operator designation provided
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a CNA. Basic Life Support (CPR) is required (or obtained within 1st month of employment). Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
