About the role
The Clinic Care Assistant participates in the care of patients in a clinic setting by:
- Measuring and recording vital signs
- Placing patients in rooms
- Preparing patients and families for exams/procedures
- Providing patient/family support
- Auxiliarying the nursing staff and healthcare providers during exams and procedures
- Maintaining appropriate visit notes, test, and x-ray results
- Performing clinic-specific technical skills
- Maintaining the clinic environment including supplies and equipment
- May be required to float to other ACU clinics as needed for staffing
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- State of Florida CNA Certification required
- May substitute one of the following for CNA Certification:
- Nursing student currently enrolled in an approved program for preparation of professional nurses
- Nursing student currently enrolled in an approved program for preparation of Licensed Practical Nurses
- Basic Life Support (CPR) is required (or must be obtained within first month of employment)
- Initiative, multitasking ability, and responsibility-taking are essential
- Proven problem-solving and teamwork skills are essential
- Understanding of medical terminology is preferred
- Successful completion of practice-specific training requirements and demonstration of practice-specific competencies
- No motor vehicle operator designation provided
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must possess and maintain current certification or registration as a CNA. Basic Life Support (CPR) is required (or obtained within 1st month of employment). Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
