About The Job
MedStar Health is looking for a Clinic Assistant to join their team at the Olney Therapy location. They are seeking an organized, timely, detail-oriented individual with strong customer service skills to interact with patients, including those from diverse age groups and backgrounds.
Primary Duties
- Greets all patients professionally.
- Informs therapists of patient arrivals and escorts patients as needed.
- Prepares treatment rooms and areas for evaluations and treatments.
- Is timely and punctual in addressing the needs and expectations of therapists and patients.
- Affords assistance with patient treatments as directed by therapists and/or provides coverage as necessary.
- Under the close supervision of a therapist, assists with predetermined, well-defined treatment sessions, such as exercise programs, ambulation, transfers, balance activities, and preparations for swallowing studies.
- Routinely stocks linen cabinets and maintains appropriate linen levels.
- Empties dirty linen hampers as required or as directed by supervisors.
- Maintains clinical supply par levels according to established guidelines and orders new supplies as directed by supervisors.
- Notifies supervisors of patient and clinical system maintenance, workflow, and other clinical processes on a regular basis.
- Fulfills established policies and procedures for cleaning and maintaining all equipment (mat tables, mats, clinic surfaces, paraffin, modalities, hot pack machines, etc.)
- Cleans mat tables and all equipment after each use.
- Aids in ensuring that all equipment is returned to its proper place and that treatment areas and storage rooms are neat and orderly.
- Reports any broken or missing equipment to supervisors.
- Performs all administrative tasks as assigned.
- Prepares the schedule for the following day.
- Adheres to schedules to maintain efficient patient care delivery.
- Answers telephones with the correct salutation and a friendly tone.
- Completes other administrative assignments or duties as requested.
- Anticipates potential safety issues and communicates effectively with professionals regarding patient conditions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association within three months of hire.
Pay
The hiring range for this position is USD $18.40 - USD $29.74 per hour.
