The Opportunity

The Clinical Service Representative Supervisor serves as support to the Clinical Service Representative Manager. It handles patient information and provides specific clinical support, which may include patient phone calls, scheduling appointments, scheduling ancillary tests, assisting with referrals, and coordinating patient care with our SHCC departments.

The role also assists clinical staff with assessing patient information, shares expertise and provides support to team members, and assists other department personnel as necessary.

  • Collaborates with the Clinical Service Manager in managing team schedules and processes.
  • Makes changes to provider templates.
  • Solves escalated patient issues.
  • Maintains daily DAR schedules and communicates scheduling errors and changes to the Manager and the Associate Director of Clinical Operations.
  • Identifies opportunities for system and workflow enhancements to boost team efficiency.
  • Attends department meetings with the Clinical Service Representative Manager at SHCC.

Patient Care Support

Handles incoming calls from both patients and internal staff.

Schedules patient appointments and gathers essential information needed to create an SHCC EHR account.

Collaborates with other sub-specialties and SHCC departments, when necessary, for patient account creation and scheduling.

Support Staff Team Support

Proposes process improvements for team members and serves as their knowledge resource.

Shares expertise and offers assistance to team members.

Aids in training and setting up EHR profiles for new team members.

Aids in monitoring the CISCO system to ensure the delivery of patient care and assists the Clinical Service Representative Manager with the SHCC phone tree and prompts.

Medical services offered at the SHCC include primary care, sports medicine, urgent care, gynecology, psychiatry, allergy/immunization clinic, and travel medicine.

Radiology, pharmacy, lab, and physical therapy are also on site.

Expected Salary

$22.03 – $27.00 per hour

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and six years of medical office experience, that includes knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines as well as basic medical terminology.
  • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Five years of appropriate experience

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of patient care.
  • Knowledge or experience with Microsoft computer programs and various computer software applications.
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records (EPIC).
  • Knowledge of SHCC’s functions, policies and confidentiality procedures.

Skills

  • Skilled in basic math.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Abilities

  • Ability to communicate efficiently in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work independently and to organize and maintain staffing for clinical teams.
  • Ability to manage patient and providers complaints.
